How To | Deep Clean Your Makeup Brushes

Hey all! Yesterday I decided to deep clean my makeup brushes for the week ahead when I thought I might make a blog post/ tutorial on how I complete this sometimes excruciating process haha

Here we go!

Step 1. Lay all your dirty brushes out on whatever bench or table you're working on

Step 2. Decide what you're going to wash them with! I use Herbal Essences Drama Clean shampoo because it really scrubs them clean and also smells heavenly. You could use any brush cleanser, mild shampoo or baby shampoo, whatever works for you!

Step 3. Take your brush and wet it under the tap. Make sure to never hold it upright or water will seep into the glue holding the handle and break the brush

Step 4. Once the brush is wet, put a small amount of cleanser, detergent or shampoo onto the back of your hand or a paper towel. I use the back of my hand but it can get quite painful if you are cleaning alot of brushes. Swirl the brush around in small circles until all the built up product is gone

Step 5. Once it is clean set it on a paper towel or flannel and wait until dry. I like to leave mine overnight but they can be dry a few minutes, depending on the type of the brush (*TIP: Check on them every once in awhile and reshape them, especially if you are not using BrushGuards, as powder and blending brushes tend to misshapen easily)

Step 6. Make sure they are completely dry and viola! Enjoy your clean, good-as-new brushes! (In case you're wondering, you can get this brush holder here)

Hope you enjoyed and this helped you a little, talk to you guys soon :)
